Race for a Reason

To find out more information on the O'Bleness Health System Race for a Reason and to register, please visit!

O’Bleness Hospital is teaming up with the Ohio University Sports Administration Program and Athletes in Action to host the 4th Annual OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital Race for a Reason on April 25th.

Last year 1,050 people participated in one of the four events and the race raised more than $115,000 for the 107 charities, non-profits, and student organizations. Each participant is encouraged to race for his or her own reason by raising additional funds through donations.

This year our goal is to raise $125,000 and host more than 1,250 race participants.

Getting involved is as easy as 1…2…3…

  1. Choose a Race: Participate as an individual or with a student organization in one of four unique events: • 5K Race • Mud Run • Triathlon/Duathlon • 3K Walk
  2. Choose a Reason: Select a charity, non-profit organization or cause that means something to you and set a goal to raise money for that reason through pledges and donations. A portion of your registration will automatically be given to your reason!
  3. Begin Training/Fundraising: Reach out to family and friends for pledges to reach your goal through your personal online fundraising page!
