Biography

A native of Upstate NY, Ms. Brackley received her B.B.A in Marketing and B.S. In Kinesiology from James Madison University, and her M.B.A. and M.S.A. from Ohio University where she worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Center for Sports Administration.

Professor Brackley joins OU from the University of Charleston where she served as an Instructor in the College of Business & Leadership and Assistant Softball Coach. Her responsibilities included teaching a wide array of Undergraduate Business Administration and Sports Administration classes, advising and mentoring students, serving on a number of campus-wide committees, and facilitating student practicum opportunities with the university’s NCAA Division II Athletic Department.

Prior to joining UC, Annie (Valeant) Brackley worked full-time as a sports and event planning professional in various business development and marketing roles for the New York Road Runners, Sponsorship Direct, GMR Marketing, ESPN, and the Charlotte Knights. Ms. Brackley has also done consulting work for the Elmira Jackals, West Virginia Power Baseball, Charleston Distance Run, and New Orleans Super Bowl Committee.

Professor Brackley's research interests include sport sponsorship, consumer behavior, and personal financial planning among athletes.

Outside of work, Ms. Brackley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, competing in endurance events, and listening to live music. Annie Brackley resides in Athens, OH with her husband Chase and beagle, Beans.
