Why did you choose Ohio University? :

Ohio University was the right fit for me. I was researching different online programs for athletic administration and OHIO kept coming up as the best one. The courses seemed very applicable to the field.

What is your current role?

I am currently an athletic director, teacher, and football coach with St. Thomas Moore boarding school in Connecticut. I have always enjoyed sports and I like working with young athletes.

How has your experience in the course helped you outside of the virtual classroom? :

It’s a bit different when you take the program online, but my experience in the course helped me bring ideas to my current role. I was able to immediately apply a lot of good fundraising and scheduling ideas to my work.

What is your favorite class in the College of Business? :

I really enjoyed the human resources course taught by Professor Kelley Walton. I learned a lot of practical information, such as strategies for hiring and important things to consider when creating job descriptions.

Which College of Business mentor/faculty/staff member has had a positive influence on your education? :

All the professors were easy to get ahold of and responded quickly.

How has your College of Business experience shaped you? :

It helped develop my writing skills, and the feedback I got was very helpful. I learned a lot of Microsoft Excel skills, which has made me a lot more effective at my job.

Why should a prospective student consider Ohio University’s College of Business?

The thing that separates OHIO from other online programs is its professors. They have a lot of experience in athletic administration and they are always available, even after you finish the program.
