College of Business adds three full-time faculty members in sports administration program

The Department of Sports Administration at Ohio University’s College of Business welcomes three full-time faculty members: Executive-in-Residence Robert Boland, Instructor Anne Brackley, and Lecturer and Associate Director for the Professional Masters in Sports Administration Luke Sayers.

Professor Robert Boland is an experienced publicist, coach, and manager of sporting events at both national and international levels. Most well-known as the founding faculty of New York University’s graduate sports business program, he earned an AB from Columbia University and a JD from the Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. Boland joined OHIO in August 2015 as one of its first sports law experts.

Professor Annie Brackley received her BBA in marketing and BS in kinesiology from James Madison University, and her MBA and MSA from Ohio University. She joins the OHIO faculty from the University of Charleston (UC). Prior to UC, Brackley worked as a sports and event planning professional for companies including ESPN, the Charlotte Knights, and GMR Marketing. Brackley’s research interests include sport sponsorship, consumer behavior, and personal financial planning among athletes.

Professor Luke Sayers joins OHIO from industry, most recently working as the vice president of Huddle. Prior to Huddle, he was general manager for IMG and managed corporate relationships with higher education institutions. During his time with the Ohio IMG Network he was responsible for growing corporate revenue by over $1 million, signing the two largest sponsorship agreements in Ohio's history. Sayers earned both his BS in sport management and MSA at Ohio University.
