Why did you choose Ohio University’s MBA/MSA dual-degree program?
I’ve always been interested in pursuing a career in sports. The MBA/MSA dual-degree program offers a combined business and sports administration education that will help me achieve my career goals. In 12-months, Ohio University’s Full-Time MBA program has given me the business skills and experience I needed to be one step closer to starting my career.
How would you describe your experience in the MBA program?
OHIO’s MBA program is accelerated, challenging, and filled with a variety of business experiences; that’s what makes the program worthwhile. In the cohort structure, students benefit from working with the same classmates each semester. You overcome challenges together, and you celebrate your successes together. For me, the International Business Immersion project was the most challenging and rewarding experience. This project took us outside our comfort zone to understand the challenges and benefits of international business.
What was your favorite MBA course and why?
Every lecture was exciting in Dr. Stoner’s organizational behavior course. I will carry the lessons from his course with me in my career and everyday life.
Which College of Business mentor/faculty/staff member has had a positive influence on your education?
I’ve had the opportunity to work with several MBA professors who have positively impacted my education, including Dr. Stoner and Dr. Kirch. Their teaching styles were a perfect fit for my learning style. We cover a lot of material in their courses, but they made each lesson very applicable. This allowed me to gain the most out of their classes.
What would you tell someone considering Ohio University’s Masters of Business Administration degree?
The MBA/MSA program will teach you how to work on a team, manage your time, and that hard work pays off. Just remember to plan ahead so you can use your time efficiently and have a little fun with your peers along the way.
What are your career goals, and how did you figure out what you wanted to do?
I’ve worked as a marketing coordinator and intern for a variety of companies. Combining this experience with my sport business education, I’m hoping to pursue a career in event management for a sports team or company. The skills I’ve learned in the MBA program will give me the competitive advantage I need to achieve my career goals.
What is your favorite place to hang out on campus/in Athens?
You can find me hanging out in College Green. I love to relax in my hammock between the trees.
