Friday, August 12 2016 12:00am

Meet one of three new career coaches in this mini-series.

Name: Grace Freireich

Education: Master of Education in college student personnel; Bachelor of Specialized Studies with focuses in psychology, sociology, and communications

Professional Role: Assistant Director of Career Management

Grace Freireich, assistant director of career management for the College of Business, was always drawn to a career that would allow her to help people. But she didn’t always know that her career path would entail helping others find their career paths.

Freireich was originally enrolled in Ohio University as a nursing major, but after a few months, she discovered a strong interest in psychology, sociology, and communications, so she joined the Bachelor of Specialized Studies program to further explore those interests. After working with Ohio University’s Career and Leadership Development Center, she decided to pursue career development.

Now, Freireich helps undergraduate students—particularly those who are interested in marketing and international business—find their future passions. She strongly encourages students to come through the Office of Career Management, where they can be exposed to a variety of resources to further their professional skills such as resume and cover letter help, exposure to jobs and internships, networking, and mock interviews.

“I am so excited to kick off a great school year with more career management initiatives than ever before,” she said. “I cannot wait to see what our team has been developing this summer become a reality.”

Freireich is passionate about empowering the youth to be successful and making an impact on society by leaving her own impact on the students she works with. She is involved in the international business society, the American Marketing Association, and AIESEC, an international organization that provides youth with leadership development and cross-cultural volunteer and internships experiences.
