Calling all students! Looking for a co-major? Look no further than Business Analytics
By Brianna Wilson
Do you like statistics? Does predicting trends using data excite you? Are you looking to develop critical business skills? If so, check out the new Business Analytics co-major.
Students can take Business Analytics in addition to any other College of Business major. The curriculum includes five courses: Business Intelligence and Information Management, Advanced Database Applications, Predictive Analytics, Prescriptive Analytics, and Marketplace Analytics.
These courses helpdevelop critical thinking skills and curiosity, build technical analytics skills, and understand software tools and analytics techniques. They also help students to draw insights from data, and use it to support decision-making in business situations.
Why else should you consider co-majoring in business analytics? That’s simple. Business analytics skills are in high demand – and that demand is projected to keep increasing. According to Accenture, the United States will create 44 percent of new jobs for analytics experts, but will produce only 23 percent of the supply. Anyone who knows about supply and demand knows that those are good odds.
