MAKE A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION

Recruiters expect perfection – let us help you get there. The Office of Career Management is here to provide templates, tips, and double checks for resumes and cover letters. When applying for job and internships opportunities, a well-written resume and cover letter describing your skills, knowledge, and experience can open the door to an interview.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WITH EMPLOYERS

With two core career fairs and multiple industry-based events, career management workshops, and nights of networking throughout the year, our students are constantly given opportunities to engage with and learn from employers. These aren’t just recruiting events, they are opportunities to explore a variety of career options.

REPRESENT THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

From career fairs to employer visits, students engage with hundreds of employers during their time at Ohio University’s College of Business. Part of this experience is learning how to build and maintain a strong professional brand. Our Professionalism Policies help students navigate employer interactions.

BA1000 and BA2000

Through two required career courses, students go deep in exploring themselves and their career options. Identifying personal values, skills, and talents through CareerLeader, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and StrengthsFinder, students learn to leverage who they are as a person with their professional goals. From developing a personal brand and career marketing plan to dinner etiquette and mock interviews, students are prepared to hit the ground running.

REAL-WORLD WORK EXPERIENCE

We take internships seriously. There is no better way to gain real-world experience and learn about different career opportunities. All students are required to complete at least one internship as part of their College of Business curriculum.
