Recognizing exceptional dedication to leadership, mentorship, and the Ohio University's Master of Sports Administration (MSA) program, Adam Ahearn was recently awarded OHIO's Sports Administration Excellence in Mentoring Award.
Ahearn, who graduated from the Professional Master of Sports Administration (PMSA) program in 2013, currently works as Associate Director of Marketing for the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department. And throughout the past year, he served as the executive mentor for MSA ’20, Alex Allee.
“Adam is what the Excellence in Mentoring Award is all about," Allee said. “He’s not only dedicated and passionate about this program, but he positively impacts everybody around him.”
Although Ahearn is officially recognized as Allee’s executive mentor, she says his generosity and involvement with the program extends much further. Ahearn has served as a champion of the program for years. In fact, his mentorship helped guide three current Bobcats, Quintin Lash (’20), Trevor Starcher (’20), and Ryan Weinkauf (‘21), to the #OHIOFamily.
Each year, Ahearn contributes time back to the MSA program by hosting groups of Bobcats at the University of Wisconsin, participating in the Race for a Reason Remote Race, and traveling back to Athens annually for Symposium.
Allee and the entire MSA program would like to thank Ahearn for his continued support of the program and exceptional commitment to mentorship.
