JPMorgan Chase Professor of Finance and Associate Professor of Finance Sinan Gokkaya recognized for excellence in teaching and meritorious academic pursuits both inside and outside of the classroom
Sinan Gokkaya, Ph.D. is one of Ohio University's newest recipients of the Presidential Teacher Awards. The award is just the latest of many honors that Dr. Gokkaya has received. Over the last three years, he has received the College of Business' Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award (2016), Excellence in Intellectual Contributions Award (2017), and the Graduate Teaching Award (2018).
"We're very proud of Professor Gokkaya and all that he has accomplished," said Hugh Sherman, dean of the College of Business. "He's been an outstanding member of our faculty for several years not only because of his incredible research and academic distinction, but also because of his dedication to students and teaching."
Over the last 20 years, two other College of Business professors were also named Presidential Teachers: Professor of Management Information Systems Raymond Frost, Ph.D (2004-2007 and 2012-2015) and Associate Professor of Accountancy Connie Esmond-Kiger, Ph.D. (2007-2010).
