What was your major(s) at OHIO?
"I majored in Finance and Business Pre-Law at OHIO, and took a lot of political science courses along the way."
What year did you graduate?
"I graduated in the summer of 2004."
What company are you currently working for?
"I work for The Townsend Group in their San Francisco office. Townsend is a Cleveland-based global investment firm focused on providing consulting and investment services for institutional clients focused on real estate, infrastructure, timber and agriculture investments."
What is your job title?
"Principal & Partner of Townsend Group."
How long have you been with the company?
"I’ve worked at Townsend Group for more than 12 years now!"
How many years of experience do you have in your field?
How did you land your first job out of college?
"I was intending to go to law school after graduating from the College of Business. In discussing my post-graduation options, I received a referral to Townsend from one of my Finance professors. I met another #BusinessBobcat during the interview process and the rest was history."
What organizations were you involved in at OHIO?
"I was involved in a few different student organizations, but most of my extracurricular time was spent with Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law fraternity. During my time with Phi Alpha Delta, I was both the President and Secretary. I met some of my best friends through this organization – one of whom officiated my wedding this fall."
What is your favorite place in Athens, Ohio?
"You could always find me Uptown! I enjoyed going to The C.I., Pigskin, The Pub, Tony’s, Bagel Street Deli, Goodfella’s and Souvlaki’s...just to name a few."
What is one piece of advice that you would give to a current #BusinessBobcat?
"More important than professional success are the relationships #BusinessBobcats build when they are young. My advice is to find your crew and love them hard. You’ll meet kind, bright and interesting people who will become your friends, neighbors, classmates and mentors. You know who they are. They are the ones who give you a smile as you pass them on College Green Monday morning. They are the ones you toast in the basement of the C.I. on a Saturday night. Those are the people who will make an impact on your life. Together, you’ll do great things."
