By: Taylor Uden Mackenziemerrick

NameMacKenzie Merrick

Program: Ohio University's One-Year MBA

Class Year: 2019

Undergraduate Institution: Ohio University

Why did you choose Ohio University's MBA program?

The shorter time frame of the program and the cost really played a role in choosing OHIO.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Studying in Seattle, Italy, and the Netherlands for our networking and consulting trips.

What was your favorite MBA class and why?

Marketing with Tom Marchese. He brings real experience and expertise into the classroom. I love him!

What has been the most difficult part of your transition into graduate school?

I commute 100 miles per day from Somerset, Ohio to Athens. It's a real time and energy sink.

What would you tell someone considering Ohio University's One-Year MBA program?

If you want to build lasting friendships and working relationships, save money, and save time, the One-Year MBA program at OHIO is incredible.

What are your career goals? How did you figure out what you wanted to do?

My short-term career goal is to be a human resources consultant, and my long-term career goal is to be a personal and professional adviser. I came to that conclusion this semester after reading a lot of material about HR consulting and personal advising.

Where is your favorite place to hang out on campus/in Athens?

Court St. Coffee, Brennen's, Alden Library, the Starbucks on West Union and the Starbucks in Baker Center.
