Why did you choose Ohio University’s MBA/MSA dual-degree program?
My mentor graduated from OHIO and always spoke highly of the University. I was sold after a campus tour. There’s nothing like the Athens campus and Bobcat pride.
How would you describe your experience in the MBA program?
I had a great experience in the MBA program. College of Business faculty and staff were always available when I had a question. I also had the opportunity to work with great classmates. Working together on projects helped us develop skills in teamwork and leadership. I’ve built lifelong friendships and professional connections with many of my colleagues.
What was your favorite MBA course and why?
There was always something new to learn in Dr. Kirch’s accounting class. He would tie a life lesson into every lecture. Not only did we learn accounting, but we learned how to become honorable professionals. I will always remember the life lessons I learned from Dr. Kirch.
Which College of Business mentor/faculty/staff member has had a positive influence on your education?
Dr. Andrew Fodor has been an influential mentor during my business education. I like to pick his brain about careers in sports and finance. His guidance has helped determine my next career steps.
What would you tell someone considering Ohio University’s Masters of Business Administration degree?
Come in with an open mind, willing to be flexible, and ready to work. Everybody warned me that the 12-months would fly by. I didn’t believe them until I went through the program. If you’re just starting the program, take a moment to meet your classmates; you’ll instantly become part of the OHIO family.
What are your career goals, and how did you figure out what you wanted to do?
After graduation I will be pursuing a career in corporate partnership with a professional sports team. I didn’t know what corporate partnership was before coming to OHIO, but I knew I had a skill in sales. The MBA/MSA dual-degree program helped me figure out that a career in corporate partnership would be a perfect fit for my skills and personality. I can’t wait to see where this career path takes me.
Where is your favorite place to hang out on campus/in Athens?
My classmates know they can always find me at O’Betty’s. My favorite meal is a hot dog and chili fries.
