Meet the Career Coach: Destiny Price

Friday, August 19 2016 12:00am

Meet one of three new career coaches in this mini-series.

Name: Destiny Price

Education: Master of Sports Administration; Bachelor of Marketing

Professional role: Assistant Director of Career Management

Destiny Price was always a driven and well-rounded student involved in just about anything her alma mater, University of Texas at Arlington, offered. Now, as assistant director of career management for the College of Business, she helps others to get involved and find their career paths.

Price helps undergraduate students—primarily those who are interested in entrepreneurship, business analytics, management and management information systems—find their passions. She stresses the importance of knowing your values, and pairing those with potential employers. She also encourages students to welcome advice from others—whether that is mentors, professors, career coaches, or even strangers.

“What has impacted my career journey most is having mentors like Breon Dennis who were willing to challenge me to be the best me. The challenge and support of my mentors allowed me to dig deeper,” she said.

Price encourages students to stop into the Office of Career Management so she and others can help challenge and guide them. She will be collaborating with the Association of Information Technology Professionals, Women in Information Systems, Ohio Society of Human Resource Mangers, Consulting Fellows, ENACTUS, OHIO Entrepreneurs, and Epsilon Nu Tau.
