Last week, the MSA class of 2019 traveled to New York City, as part of their capstone trip where they worked with numerous companies on projects such as selecting new sponsorship categories and data analyzation.
Many of the projects conducted were made possible through Ohio Family alumni who understand the importance of giving back through practical experiences. “This trip was great for two reasons. First the ability to work on challenging real-world projects and secondly, the opportunity to connect with our alumni base, said MSA ’19, Kaleb Sislowski.
In addition to the projects, the class also had the opportunity of attending and visiting with alumni in the area. On the first night of their arrival, they stopped by Madison Square Garden to meet with former Ohio undergraduate student, Anthony Pipia and catch the Knicks take on the Chicago Bulls. On Wednesday, the class stopped by ESL Gaming and heard an interesting presentation on the world of e-sports by MSA ’18 alum, Seth Bull. Finally, on Thursday night, many of the New York City alumni met for a reception in mid-town to get to know the class of 2019 and reconnect with their peers.
The trip couldn’t have come to fruition without the organization of their professor, Matthew Cacciato. The class would also like to thank all of the alumni who committed to taking the time and making the annual capstone trip a valuable learning experience.
Organizations represented: New York Jets, Front Office Sports, NBCSports, Columbia University, St John’s IMG, The Big East Conference, NYC & Company, Genesco, Strategic Agency, Lagardere, Body Armour, GMR, Crossings TV, SNY.
