The Ohio University Student Fixed Income Management Group manages a $2.8 million portfolio of fixed income securities for the Ohio University Endowment Fund. The OUSFIMG reserves $1.4 million of those funds for socially responsible investments. We strive for long-term, stable growth of capital and future cash flows through selective asset analysis.
Founded in 2005, the Ohio University Student Fixed Income Management Group gives students exposure to the fixed income market during their college career. Members use Bloomberg Terminals to research prospective investments and analyze trends, and conduct conference calls with investment professionals.
The OUSFIMG only invests in investment-grade debt instruments. This means we select only agency mortgage backed securities intuitively backed by the federal government, and corporate bonds from a variety of sectors with ratings no less than BBB. This investment strategy encourages diversity and minimizes risk of credit events.
