Since we know that hands-on experience is the best way to learn, we provide a variety of ways to get you involved and active through our Center for Sports Administration.
Our Center for Sports Administration connects students to internships, job opportunities, and unique experiences.
The Darren Butler Sports Business Forum gives an in-depth look at professions within the sports industry. This forum bridges the gap between the undergraduate, graduate, and professional sports administration students for professional development, networking, and access to industry experts.
“One of my favorite experiences through the College of Business has been the Darren Butler Sports Business Forum and Career Fair hosted by the Department of Sports Administration each fall. The ability to network and hear from current leaders in the sports industry has been an invaluable experience that I will always look back on as one of the best here.”

San Diego Sports Consulting Project
The San Diego Sports Consulting Project gives students the opportunity to put their classroom knowledge into practice. The students, together with select students from around the country, act as business consultants for the San Diego Padres and work over the course of the trip to develop new, unique ways to drive ticket sales.
Germany Global Consulting Program
The Germany Global Consulting program takes students to Bayreuth, Germany to work with students at our partner institution, the University of Bayreuth. Here, the students engage in consulting projects with executives from adidas, Puma, and our academic partners to create an intensive and immersive experience. The College of Business offers 12 other Global Consulting Project experiences, but the Bayreuth one is focused on the sport management area.
